REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Regional Championships were played at Tenterfield over the weekend. The 36 hole event attracts players from Mid North Coast, Northern Rivers, New England and Central North Golf Associations. The winner this year was Woolgoolga champion representative player Logan Toms. Logan led the 100 strong field after the first day with a round of even par 71. He followed that with a 70 on Sunday and a two shot victory. Tim Hyland finished tied second with rounds of 72 & 71. The Mid North Coast team of Toms, Aaron Hart, Tim Hyland, Grant Skinner and Tom Major won the senior team event surviving a countback from the strong Northern Rivers team.
Jack Pountney was the Regional junior champion firing rounds of 76,73. Teammate Jack Hickey finished runnerup shooting 76,75.
In the Veterans section Geoff Smede and Peter Mackay combined to win the Veterans Team title
