2012 Pennant Finals

Bonville Win Division 1 beating Woolgoolga 3-2
Bonville are this years Mid North Coast District Golf Association division 1 pennant championships. They defeated Woolgoolga in a dramatic and exciting final. In the early matchups Luke Feltis and Tim Hyland had won for Bonville and these victories were matched by wins from Steve Hutchinson and Shane Ewart of Woolgoolga. It came down to the final game between team captains Logan Toms and Adam Wood and with Toms leading one up playing the 18th hole Woolgoolga appeared favourites to retain the title. Wood had other ideas and in an outstanding effort he birdied the 18th hole to square the match before also carding a birdie on the 19th hole to claim a spectacular win.


Coffs Harbour d Bonville 3 1/2 to 1 1/2 to win Division 2
The Division 2 champions were also decided in exciting circumstances. Coffs Harbour claimed victory over Bonville by 3 and a half matches to 1 and a half. The closeness of the contest was revealed in the fact that the first four matches were not decided until the 18th hole and the final match was decided on the 17th hole.
Captain Mike Cragg, in a non-playing role was mastermind of the victory and with his number one player Bruce Silva leading the team on the course the Coffs team was able to clinch victory. Silva, Grant Purdy, and Brett Mulhall won matches while a great comeback from Jack Hickey saw him square with Joe Franck. The lone Bonville winner was Craig Lang.


Nambucca d Bonville 4-1 to take Division 3
The Division 3 final was also played and Nambucca were victors over Bonville by a convincing 4 matches to one. Warwick Paynter gave Bonville some early hope however victories to Denys Tobin, Wayne Jeffery, Steve Ball and Greg Smith completed a great afternoon for the Nambucca team.


Coffs Harbour win Division 4 defeating South West Rocks 3 1/2 to 1 1/2
The Rocks were last years champions and they went down fighting in the Divison 4 final. Coffs harbour team captain Allen McDonald put the first win on the board and Matt Connell soon added to the advantage. the remaining games were very tense however when Cliff Bingham secured a 3 & 2 victory Coffs had the title for 2012.


Bellingen/Dorrigo win Division 5 by 4-1 over Woolgoolga
Bellingen Dorrigo got away to a great start with Peter Woods and Col O'Conner getting wins in the first two matches. in a copy of Division 4 the other games were very close but with Michael Beltker winning at No. 1 the Bello/Dorrigo were able to celebrate. The final two matches ended in a squared results.


Fredrickton defend Division 6 tile beating Urunga 3-2
Fredrickton won the title in 2011 in extra holes and again this year they had to do it the hard way against a gallant Urunga team. Fredo won the first two matches before John Piggott got one match back for Urunga. Kim Michelsen beat james Benson on the 19th hole to square the matches but in the end Brad Cooper defeated Tod Riley on the 20th hole and Fredo retain their title.
